Deputy Director of Gender Inaugurates foster care Committee

The Foster Care Placement committee members will receive proper training from the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection to enable them to discharge their duties with the utmost professionalism.

The Bono East Regional Deputy Director of Gender and Social Protection, Mrs Evelyn Yaa Bansa has inaugurated a Forster Care Placement committee.

The committee, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, was inaugurated in accordance with the Children's Act Amended Law.

The committee is mandated to provide support to "children in need of care" which most at times involves street children.

Mrs Evelyn Yaa Bansa in an interview with the media disclosed that the committee is also tasked to take care of children.  

She further revealed that the Foster Care Placement committee will be supervising the adoption of the children under their care whose parents or family relatives have abandoned them.

According to her, members of the community will receive proper training from the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection to enable them to discharge their duties with the utmost professionalism.
