Death Trap Adawso-Mangoase Road is Affecting Economic and Education Activities- Assembly Man Cry Out.

Farmers, Road users, and Students of Mangoase in the Akwapim North Municipality of the Eastern region and its surrounding communities are still struggling with the deplorable state of their roads.

The deplorable nature of the Adawso-Mangoase road has made it difficult for farmers to send their farm produce to market centres to sell after harvesting.

According to the Assemblyman, Mangoase is the food basket community in Akwapim North Municipality but surprisingly, the roads connecting to these communities like Aboabo number 1 and 2, Glolu Kofi, Tinkon and Suhum are now death trap roads.

He explained that the movement of heavy-duty vehicles carting sand in the area continues to worsen the condition of the main road from Mangoase to Tinkon as erosion has washed away some portions of the road, making it difficult for drivers to ply the road as well as making a free flow of vehicles difficult on the roads.

Honourable Justice Siaw Mandela, the Assembly Member speaking with the media pleaded with the authorities to focus on constructing the Mangoase-Tinkong- Adawso road for the smooth flow of vehicles at all times since most of the food items harvested by farmers keep destroyed.

Also, some of the teachers and students at Mangoase Senior High School complain about the state of the road which has to have negative effects on teaching and learning as most of them stay outside the community and find it difficult to report to school on time due to the bad nature of their road.

He, therefore, appealed to the authorities in the area as a matter of urgency to consider awarding their road to a contractor to complete their road for them and also to deal with the issues facing them to avert the economic challenges it would have on their farming activities as well as the academic performance of their students.
