Calls for the legalization of marijuana have been questioned and the youth have been warned of a serious consequence.

The Chief of Adom in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region Nana Yeboah Asuamah III has urged the government to put proper measures to govern the legalization of marijuana and cannabis in the country.

Nana Yeboah Asuamah in an interview with Soiree news noted that, though cannabis and marijuana are beneficial for medicinal purposes, they can be harmful to human life when the intake is much.

He believes legalizing the production of the same with regulation can help create more jobs for the teeming youth in the country.

Nana urged the government to put measures that will help the youth to desist from smoking marijuana and cannabis. 

Ghana has legalized marijuana production for medicinal purposes in the country. This comes at the back of consistent calls from herbal medicine producers for the herb to be legalized for medicinal purposes.

They believe the medicinal purpose of marijuana supersedes its harm hence the need for its consideration.
