DAF Honors Seven African and Diaspora Leaders

 In its quest to recognize African and Diaspora leaders for what they do, the Diaspora African Forum has awarded seven personalities.


In a press release dated 18th June 2023, copied to Soireenews.com, DAF indicates seven personalities whom it recognized at its award ceremony. 

The seven awardees were being recognized for their dedication to the mission of bridging the gap between the African family in the diaspora.

The awardees include H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-
President of the Republic of Ghana, the Prime Minister of Barbados, H.E. Mia Mottley, the Minister for Presidency of Women, Youth and People with Disabilities, South Africa, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors,
AFEXIMBANK,
Professor Benedict Oramah,
America Oscar-winning Actor, Mr. Louis Gossett Jr, and the American Political Activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson.

The rest are H.E. Wamkele Mene-Secretary General, African Continental Free Trade Area, Dr. John B. Sampson -Member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine's (SCCM) Africa Infrastructure Relief and Support (AIRS Project), Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, H.E. Dr. Bamaga Tukur-Grand Patron and President Emeritus, African Business Roundtable.

The DAF's Bridge Builders Award is a unique award scheme aimed at recognizing, honoring, and appreciating key personalities and individuals who have contributed to bridging the gap between Africa and the Diaspora.
Over the decades, DAF has awarded personalities including the iconic American Civil Rights leader, Zanona Clayton, the Former President of Malawi, H.E. Joyce Banda, and the former president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
