Over 500 Residents in Kojokrom in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abraim District in the Central Region are homeless after over 200 Land guards invaded their Community and demolished their houses leaving them stranded.

Investigation conducted by Soireeews reveals that the act by the guards was due to land disputes.

According to reports, the land residents occupied has been sold to some businessman without notifying them. The land guards stormed into the Komenda Kojokrom Community on Sunday evening around 4:30 PM and started with the demolishing exercise.

Farm produce were destroyed, some animals were killed with others taken away.

The Assembly Man for Kojokrom Electoral Area, Hon. Isaac Mensah appealed to the Chiefs in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abraim District to come to the aid of the Victims and help them retain their lands.

Residents complained that the rage of the land guards steered them into the bushes with their wives and husbands to save their lives.

They narrated that the Land guards came with guns, sharpen Cutlass, dogs and many weapons threatening to kill them if they refused to leave.

Meanwhile, some of the affected residents also appealed to the government to support them to resolve their homelessness.
