Cocoa Beans Are Rotting At Asuadea; Amidst Tension
They stated that, their cocoa beans have been left to rot because of the galamsey activities, saying,this is as a result of the operators destroying the routes that lead to their cocoa farms with their machines.

Hundreds of farmers staying in Asuadea in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region have lamented over how illegal mining activities are affecting their farming activities in the community.
They stated that, their cocoa beans have been left to rot because of the galamsey activities, saying,this is as a result of the operators destroying the routes that lead to their cocoa farms with their machines.
According to them, they have informed the authority of the community but to no avail.
"We confronted the Baamuhwne of the Adankrangya traditional council who has been issuing permit to the operators to help remedy the situation but some of us ended up being arrested, they added.
They pleaded with His Royal Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu ll and the government to come to their aid.
