Ghana's Economy Challenges Under  Akufo-Addo Worst ACEP Director Blasts The President

The Executive Director for Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), Mr Ben Boakye has lambasted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, over the recent economic crisis being experienced by many Ghanaians and accused President Akufo-Addo of mismanaging Ghana's economy.

The Executive Director for Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), Mr Ben Boakye has lambasted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, over the recent economic crisis being experienced by many Ghanaians and accused President Akufo-Addo of mismanaging Ghana's economy.
According to him, the economy is in a serious crisis which requires the president to come to terms with reality, adding that the challenges in the energy sector contribute significantly to the current economic challenges many Ghanaians are facing in the country.
Addressing journalists in the programme dubbed; "State of the Energy and Extractive of Ghana: Critical Reforms Required for Sustainable Economic Recovery, Mr Boakye said Ghanaians are currently struggling under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government due to Ghana’s poor economy.
This to ACEP,  efforts at the economic recovery may not succeed without addressing the key challenges that plague the energy sector, when a lot of taxes been collected goes to debt service which constraints government to pass on any relief.
Mr Boakye said the recent increase in petroleum products has affected various sectors of the economy because of over-reliance on petroleum products for Transportation.
"In other countries taxes collected are used for developmental projects but Ghana, our tax revenue is been use to pay debt"
He added that the power sector recoveries undermine the economic development of the country.
