Chelsea will assess the extent of Ben Cherwell’s injury against West Ham before officially confirming the duration for his absence.

Lampard has already ruled the former Leicester player out against Arsenal on Saturday.

Ben Chilwell has had his playing career at Chelsea threatened by injuries since his arrival from Leicester City. The 24-year-old on Tuesday was forced off the pitch when he accidentally collided with Hammers forward Jarrod Bowen which resulted in him twisting his ankle awkwardly.

He was replaced by Emerson as the squad went on to record victory following back to back defeats in the hands of Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to Lampard, the left-back will have a scan on Tuesday to determine the situation.

“I expect he's doubtful for Arsenal. He turned his ankle and it was too painful to continue,” Lampard said.

“We'll have a scan tomorrow to see how bad the injury is and update after that.”

The Blues returned to winning ways at Stamford Bridge after their 3-0 win against West Ham United which moved them into the fifth position with 25 points.

Chelsea already have Reece James nursing an injury and with the tight December schedule upcoming, Lampard will have to manage his squad to improve their performances.
