Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Launches One Consumer One Officer Project.

Speaking at the launch the Bono and Ahafo Regional Director of Food and Drug Authority (FDA) Madam Akua Amponsah Owusu in an interview stated that this is the five-time FDA is implementing the One Consumer One Officer Project and it has been successful over its implementation.

The Bono and Ahafo Regional Office of Food and Drugs Authority has launched the 2022 project of One Consumer One Officer in Sunyani of the Bono Region.

The focus of the project is to educate traders and consumers on how they can buy goods and products from the market as Christmas is approaching without buying fake products.

Under the project, Food and Drugs Authority Officer will visit various marketplaces in the region on their routine exercise to check fake and unwholesome products being offered for sale in the various markets within the regions.

Speaking at the launch the Bono and Ahafo Regional Director of Food and Drug Authority (FDA) Madam Akua Amponsah Owusu in an interview stated that this is the five-time FDA is implementing the One Consumer One Officer Project and it has been successful over its implementation.

She said they have started the education before, during and after Christmas so that consumers will get a good product for their Christmas activities and will not be manipulated by unwholesome goods being traded in the market.

According to her, the FDA is doing the exercise alongside their normal activities of checking fake products in the system.

She urged the public to collaborate with FDA for a successful Christmas celebration and called on the public to report any unwholesome product found in the market.

She said what the authority is doing will go a long to cramp down fake products and expired goods which are usually introduced during the Christmas festivities to help protect the health of consumers.
