About Hundred Residents in Chamba, a farming community in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region are yet to receive support from government and other private organizations after the havoc caused by a rainstorm.

Residents of the area have been displaced after a rainstorm hit the area (Chamba) and its adjoining Communities on Wednesday.

Some of the affected resident's Soiree News has gathered currently seek refuge from family and friends.

Homes of the affected person's including school buildings, police stations, health centers, and other governmental structures have been ripped off.

The incident has compelled many schools in the area to temporarily close down.

Business activities have been halted since the incident occurred.

The electricity system in the Chamba community has been affected hugely, with part of the community not having light.

Several government appointees have visited the area, with the promise of providing the Victims the needed support.

As of the time SN24 News visited the community in the morning, today Friday 18th February 2021, no support has reached the affected person's, Soiree News can report authoritatively.

The Minister-designate for Defense, Dominic Nitiwul, Municipal Chief Executive for Nanumba North, Abdulai Yaquob, and the National Nadmo coordinator are part of eminent individuals who visited the area.

Their visit aimed at assessing preliminary damage caused by the rainstorm, and find a way of restoring the people to normalcy.
