Chairman Wontumi Blamed For Creating Tension In Asante Mampong NPP
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known in the political circle as Chairman Wontumi has been blamed by the polling station executives of the Asante Mampong Constituency of the NPP for the pending of Mampong internal election in the Asante Mampong High Court Court.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known in the political circle as Chairman Wontumi has been blamed by the polling station executives of the Asante Mampong Constituency of the NPP for the pending of Mampong internal election in the Asante Mampong High Court Court.
According to them, Chairman Wontumi's actions prevent thousands of the members of the NPP to pick forms for polling station elections in the constituency because they are not in support of the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) of the area.
This has angered the affected polling station executives to take the matter to the law court for justice to prevail in the case, creating tension and confusion in the NPP in the area.
However, the Asante Mampong High Court adjoined and placed an injunction on the case files by 35 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mampong Polling Station Executives led by Mr. Kofi Sarpong against NPP Executives in Mampong led by Constituency chairman, Mr. Asare Luther for denied over thousands of party members to pick forms for polling station elections in the Constituency.
They would be reappeared on June 10, 2022
for the fourth sitting on the case.
The court presided over by His Lordship Justice George Appah Kwarbeng ordered both parties to settle the case by the NPP National Executive Council (NEC) and submit the final results to Mampong Court on June 10 2022 before any elections can be conducted by NPP in Asante Mampong Constituency.
After the court injunction, the 35 Polling Station Executives speaking with the media by their leader, Mr. Kofi Sarpong accused the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako (Chairman Wontumi) of pending Mampong internal election in Court.
The affected polling station executives appealed to the NPP National Executive Council (NEC) to let justice prevail in the case if not the case will not resolve.
