Michael Afrane questions producers, "If 'Dumsor' caused Kumawood's breakdown, why is Kumawood still in a coma?"

If Dumsor and the reconstruction of Kejetia market were to blame for the demise of the Kumawood film industry, the sector would have recovered following the installation of power and the Kejetia market's construction, he noted.

Michael Afrane questions producers, "If 'Dumsor' caused Kumawood's breakdown, why is Kumawood still in a coma?"

Michael Afrane, a seasoned actor, has questioned why producers can't make pictures now that the "Dumsor" problem has been resolved.

Remember that the Kumawood film industry's demise was allegedly caused by an unstable electricity supply, or "Dumsor," as it is known locally.

Michael Afrane added that movie producers had claimed that the reconstruction of the Kejetia Market and Dumsor that occurred during the previous John Dramani Mahama administration was to blame for the demise of the Kumawood film industry.

The actor has revealed that although electricity has been stabilized since 2017 and the ultra-modern Kejetia market has been completely rebuilt, the film industry has yet to make a comeback.

If Dumsor and the reconstruction of Kejetia market were to blame for the demise of the Kumawood film industry, the sector would have recovered following the installation of power and the Kejetia market's construction, he noted.

"We failed to address and eradicate the major issues that were bringing the industry to its knees, but we instead accused the John Dramani Mahama government of being motivated by politics."

"Actors who stood against former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have regretted," Michael Afrane continued, "because Nana Addo has let them down with poor economic management."
