The Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area, Tong-Rana Kugbilsong Nalebegtang, known in his real life as Robert Mosore is in a keen contest for the position of a Council of State representative for the Upper East region.

The paramount chief of the Talensi traditional area who is seeking re-election was first elected as the regional representative in 2017; beating four other contestants including the late Dr. Jacob Ayeebo, a former Council of State member for the region.

A notice of poll, sighted by Soiree News 24 indicates that four other persons are in the race to contest the Council of State position in the region with the incumbent, Tong-Rana Kugbilsong Nalebegtang.

The four include Akurugu Eric Aligiyelah, a teacher by profession, Yaw Mort a former Regional Organizer of the NPP, and a businessman.

The rest are, Akamboe Ayirebasia, a retired public servant, and Ditundini Adiali Thomas-More, the Paramount Chief of the Chiana Traditional Area and current President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs.

The notice of poll, signed by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, indicates that “the poll will be taken at the house of chiefs, Bolgatanga, on Friday 12 February 2021 between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.”
