Central Region:Angry Fishermen at Senya Bereku Lament Over irregular Supply of Premix Fuel

An irregular supply of premix fuel has affected fishing activities

Angry fishermen at Senya Bereku in the Awutu senya West district of the central region are lamenting over the irregular supply of premix fuel which has affected their fishing activities in the area resulting in marriage and divorces.

According to the angry Senya Bereku fishermen,  there is no premix fuel for them to go fishing for almost three months which the angry Senya Bereku fishermen describe the situation as worrying and pathetic.

When tv soireenews visited the community, some of the fishermen disclose that their wives are getting divorced due to economic hardship in the area.

The angry Senya Bereku fishermen furthermore stated that they can not provide for the needs of their children including their wives due to irregular premix fuel for them to go fishing because apart from the fishing work there is no work at Senya Bereku.

The angry Senya Bereku fishermen are therefore calling on the minister of fisheries and Aquah culture development who also doubles as a member of parliament for Awutu senya east (Kasoa) Hounrable Mavis Hawa Koomsom as a matter of urgency to come to their aid with premix fuel.


Meanwhile, soireenews furthermore spoke to some of the women in the Senya Bereku community who also said indeed they are divorcing their husbands due to their inability to perform their duties as husbands in the house.

Some of the women who spoke to Soireenews Reporter central region have appealed to the minister of fisheries and Aquah culture development who also double as a member of parliament for Awutu senya east Mavis Hawah Koomsom to provide adequate premix fuel for their husbands to go for fishing to be able to discharge their duties in the house as a man.
