Pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group, Critical Thinkers had offered series of advice to the leadership of the NPP ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The Convenor of the Critical Thinkers Mr. Leo-Nelspn Adzidogah stated that the NPP quest to break the eight year circle jinx must be achieved if the presidential hopefuls and their followers see themselves as the "property" of the party and carry out their campaigns to promote the general interest of the party.

According to Mr. Adzidogah who was the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akatsi South Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region, the NPP handing over power to itself will remain unprecedented political events in the history of Ghana.

This, he stressed will underscore the political axiom of the party; breaking the eight year circle jinx, saying that commitment to this feat must be total and unrelenting.

He was of the view that one cardinal rule of engagement must be decent campaign devoid of personal attacks, lies and unhelpful propaganda.

The former MCE noted that this is an internal contest and at the end of the day all will join hands together to unleash defeat on our opponent, the NDC.

"For us to deliver electoral surprises in the history of Ghana, we must do the following among others; All Presidential hopefuls must promote party unity and build harmonious relationships at all levels; government and party," he noted.

Additionally, Mr Adzidogah indicated that the party can easily break the eight jinx when the  followers of the Presidential hopefuls engage in politically healthy campaign that will ensure friendliness and party cohesion.

He stressed that the the government appointees and the party officials should not engage in discrimination in any form by supporting any candidate whether Presidential or Parliamentary.

He mentioned that this tendency promotes unhealthy rivalry and at the end of the day building unity and sense of togetherness always becomes difficult and thus negatively affects the electoral fortunes of the party.

This situation, according to Mr. Adzidogah must be avoided at all cost.

He cautioned that no parliamentary aspirant should be discriminated against on account of supporting any Presidential hopeful

He maintained that any parliamentary candidate supporting any of the presidential hopeful should enjoy support from the government and the party if there is any.

He indicated that the government and the party must eschew hatred for any Candidate whether Presidential or Parliamentary.

Above all, the former MCE noted that the playing field must be levelled for all the aspirants.

"When the top echelons of the government and the party are committed to these principles and rules of engagement, we will emerge politically healthy and competitive to deliver victory for ourselves.

"The NPP must hand over to itself for the continuity of our plans and programmes for the country," he reiterated.

He stressed that; "A break in our government, will spell a disaster for the country, adding that
the current statecraft cannot be managed by the NDC.

Mr. Adzidogah was of the strong opinion that the country will experience status reversal in term of socio economic policy direction of the country.

He said all the social intervention programmes will collapse if not run wobbly.

He indicated that the continued stay in office of the NPP government will help accelerate the socio economic development and growth of the country.
