Brong Ahafo Association Donates Exercise Books to Schools

The Municipal Director of Education, John Kwadwo Amisah in an interview with the media said the benevolent act from the association in a way can serve as a source of motivation especially to students whose parents lack the financial mussels to purchase exercise books on their own.

The Brong Ahafo Nuad) Kuo Inc has donated exercise books to some selected schools within the Brong Ahafo Regions.

The Association, which is made of expatriates who originated from the various towns in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo Region deemed it a necessity to supply schools especially basic schools in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo Region in order to facilitate teaching and learning activities in the region.

The organizer of the association, Jones Opoku Mensah after the donations revealed that the aim of the association is to help improve all aspects of the economy in the communities they originated from but their main aim is to improve the educational standard of those communities hence the donations of the books.

According to him, a total of 11,600 pieces of exercise books have been procured by the Brong Ahafo Nuad) Kuo Inc - New York, U.S.A and it's expected to be donated to some selected schools in Techiman, Bouyem, Bonsu, Aworowa, Forikrom, Tra, Atebubu, Wenchi, Wenchi Akrobi, Wenchi Nchiraa, Amoma, Abisimm, Dua Nkwata, Nkoranza, Tanobouasi, Asantekroum, and Bonkwai.

He disclosed that the books will be donated to the selected schools based on the number of enrollment in the school hence each and every student in those schools will get their share.

Mr Jones urged well-meaning citizens to support schools within their communities since the responsibilities of nation-building do not rest on the shoulders of government alone.

He seized the opportunity to urge teachers to make good use of the resource parks government has provided and also encourage parents to buy textbooks for their students to enable them to study at home.

"Although the government has put measures in place to procure textbooks for the students' parents should also buy additional textbooks for their children to enable them to learn while at home.

Assistant Headmaster for S.D.A primary school A in Techiman, Joseph Boakye Yiadom, thanked the Brong Ahafo Nuad) Kuo Inc. for their generosity and said the donation of the exercise books will go a long way in improving teaching and learning activities in the school.

He said most pupils in lower primary have challenges in acquiring exercise books and believe these books can help solve such challenges.

He also outlines some other challenges facing the pupil mainly being feeding. 

Some students who will benefit from the donations made by the Brong Ahafo Nuado Kuo Inc shared their profound gratitude.
