Best person for the job - Buhari hails Tinubu's win

Bola Tinubu has received congratulations from Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who described him as the ideal candidate for the position.

In a statement, the president said, "I shall now work with him and his staff to ensure an orderly handover of power."

Opposition groups have disputed Mr. Tinubu's victory and called for a new election.

After serving two mandates, President Buhari is leaving office.

Despite acknowledging difficulties with the voting process, he insisted that there was no question about the "freedom and justice of the elections."

"Please take it to the courts, not to the streets," he urged the opposition groups, if they felt the need to contest.
