A 40-year-old man narrowly missed death after being mauled by a lion in Gaza, Mozambique's southern region.
The person was seriously injured and is currently being treated at a hospital.
The lion that mauled the man had escaped from the Limpopo National Park, according to a local administrator.
He said park inspectors and local district government officials will begin taking steps to scare away and tame stray animals that have caused alarm in the community in recent days.
