The Ahafo Regional Public Relation Officer of GES has called on all stakeholders to unite and help prevent the virus from any spread.

The heads of Basic schools in the  Ahafo Region have ensured strict adherence to government directives against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), as children returned to schools, after staying at home for close to one year.
 
During a visit by Soireenews correspondent in the Region, most of the basic schools in the Region had mounted Veronica Buckets to aid handwashing with soap under running water by pupils and students, staff and visitors.

At the Ahafoman Senior High School, which has a model basic school attached, parents and their children who did not wear nose masks were denied entry to the school compound.

The security offices at the school’s gate did not allow taxi drivers without nose or face masks to enter.

The situation was not different at Mim Senior High Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High Schools.

Meanwhile, some parents had lauded the measures put in place by the school authorities, saying it would help stem the spread of the pandemic among school children's

Speaking to Ahafo Regional Public Relation Officer of Ghana Education Service, Mr Yaw Frimpong, said they would strictly enforce social distancing protocols and handwashing with soap under running water at all schools across the region.

Mr Frimpong appealed to traditional authorities, religious bodies, corporate institutions and civil society organisations to actively join the campaign to stem its spread.
