Emmanuel Akoneh has presented 450 metallic and wood dual desks to the schools across the district

Honorable. Emmanuel Akoneh, the District Chief Executive for Banda, in the Bono Region has presented a total of 450 metallic and wood dual desks to the schools across the district.

The move, according to the DCE, was aimed at providing adequate furniture to enhance the standard of education in the area.

At a brief ceremony to hand over the dwarf desks, he indicated that his outfit through the District Education Directorate gave to the schools with deplorable furniture in the district to benefit from the gesture.

He gave the assurance that he and the Government will continue to support education in the area.

"The central government gave 200 dual desks and the District Assembly also added 250 to a total of 450 desks, I know these won't be sufficient and I urge to add more in a mean time to support to abate the furniture challenges in the schools in my area" he expressed.

He also pledged his preparedness to support every activity that would promote education in the district.

Honorable. Akoneh further admonished all head teachers to take good care of the desks so they could meet their intended purposes.

Mr. Samuel Laar, the Banda District Director of Education, thanked the Government and the DCE for the donation.

He also cautioned the teachers to ensure the desks would be given proper care.

He then appealed to the DCE to provide more desks for the rest in dire need of them.
