Six pupils of the Assin Dawomako D-A Basic School in the Assin South District of the Central Region have escaped death after part of a 9 unit abandoned deplorable school building collapsed.

Luckily, the school was not in session at the time of the collapse.
It would be recalled that this reporter had earlier reported that the chief and elders of the area have threatened to pull down the building since it poses threat to school children.
The school children are therefore calling on the MP for Assin South Constituency who doubles as Deputy Minister of Education, Honorable Rev. John Ntim Fordjour to renovate and complete it.
Some parents who spoke in an interview said, the building has been abandoned for more than 11 years. They said they will be forced to pull it down since it poses threat to the lives of their children

Meanwhile, the PTA chairman, Osei Yaw Akoto said the school's population has reduced drastically due to the weak nature of the abandoned building which has become a death trap.
The Chief of the town, Nana Akomeah who was particularly worried about the waste of state funds called on the Deputy Minister of Education, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, and the DCE for the area, Ms. Felicia Ntrakwa Amissah to map up plans to complete the building before it causes a casualty.
The Assemblymember for the area, Mr. Minimal Abdul Mutalib pointed out that the MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, and the DCE, Felicia Amissah Ntrakwa have already surveyed the building and plans are far advanced to complete it.
