Autistics children can be brilliant than some normal ones - Pediatrician

A Pediatrician, Dr. Adoma Forkuo, has called for an end to the perception that autistic children cannot any make any meaningful life because of their condition.

He indicated that several of them are brilliant and intelligent than normal humans.

Dr. Adoma made the statement as the world celebrated “World Awareness Autism Day” on April 2, 2021, dubbed, “Autism Awareness Month”.

The Dr. said the general public should desist from the habit of marginalization and stigmatization of the autistics in the various communities in Ghana since they can be useful in all fronts.

The celebration of the Day, designated by the United Nations General Assembly, encourages member states to help raise awareness about people with autistic spectrum disorders, including autism and Asperger syndrome.

The Day, passed by the UN Council on November 1, 2007, and adopted on 18 December 2007, was proposed by Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, United Nations representative from Qatar and consort to Emir Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and supported by all member states.
