Attend antenatal on time to avoid adverse problems - Pregnant women advised
The staff Midwife of the Sampa Government Hospital in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, Madam Madam Agnes Bosuo, has advised pregnant women to attend antenatal on time to avoid adverse problems at the time of delivery of their babies from their wombs.
"I am advising all the pregnant women to follow the directives of midwives on their next visitation to health facilities for healthcare to avoid maternal complications that may affect the pregnancy and subsequently lead to maternal mortality in the country," she stressed.
Speaking in an interview with Madam Kyeraa Gifty on a program dubbed You And Your Health on Gye Nyame FM chaired By Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Madam Bosuo indicated that most pregnant women within the district sometimes failed to honor the midwife's invitation to antenatal care on time with frivolous excuses.
This behavior, according to her, sometimes affects quality health delivery.
She stressed that most pregnant women avoid antenatal care with excuses of traveling.
She asserted pregnant women are allowed to travel but must ensure they make themselves available for healthcare at any health facility they get to with their maternal and Child health records book to help them get themselves on track.
This, he said would help to avoid the potential problem that may arise as a result of the pregnancy and non-adherence to antenatal care.
Madam Bosco stressed that pregnant women must be more concerned about issues on their health by reporting immediately any signs and symptoms that may emerge as a result of the pregnancy to the nearest hospital for treatment to circumvent maternal complications during childbirth.
