The Jaman North District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Bono Region, Mr. Solomon Owusu has handed over a brand new 33-seater bus to Our Lady Of Fatima Vocational and Training Institute located at Sampa.
The donation of the bus was part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led NPP government's plans to support Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education in the country to facilitate entrepreneurship and create more jobs opportunities in the country.
Speaking at a mini durbar for the handing-over ceremony, the DCE stated that President through the Free TVET education policy procured the buses for all technical institutions.
This move, according to him, was aimed at aiding their transportation and will ensure that all technical and vocational institutions within the country look very attractive for SHS leavers to enroll in to ameliorate the unemployment situation in the country.
He pleaded with the school authorities and the entire student body to ensure the maintenance of the bus to help reduce extra costs that may be derived as a result of poor maintenance culture which will lead to a total breakdown of the vehicle.
Appreciating the efforts of the NPP government on behalf of the school authorities, the Head Of the Department For engineering in the school, Mr. Samuel Asomani expressed profound gratitude for the gesture.
He promised that his outfit and the leaders of the school will ensure that, the bus is well maintained to serve the intended purpose for which it was provided.
