Some Concern Youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asunafo South constituency of the Ahafo Region have kicked against any attempt by President Nana Addo Dakkwa Akufo-Addo to reappoint Honourable Osei Bonsu Snr as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the second time.

According to the youth group, the DCE  has brought division among the rank and file of the party. They have also accused him of disrespecting the constituency executives and the grassroots.

The youth group led by one Justice Kwaku Boampong, Constituency 1st Vice Chairman said the DCE failed to connect with the grassroots of the party in the area and thus did nothing to support the development of the area.

The group believes that Hon Osei Bonsu Snr has nothing good for the NPP and the district at large, hence their call for the patriots in the region to rise up and say no to the DCE.

They further accepted that the President has the intention of retaining Osei Bonsu as DCE hence their plea to the president not to make what they call a mistake by bringing Osei Bonsu SNR.

“We are pleading with President Akufo-Addo to consider the views of the people in the constituency before appointing a different person instead of retaining Mr Osei Bonso SNR”, they said.

They begged the President to appoint a person who connects well with the grassroots and who could contribute to the party’s fortunes in the constituency.

“We urge the Appointments Committee and the President to use independent sources to seek the concerns and feelings of the party members in the constituency rather than relying on people who wield some seeming influence in the constituency, they emphasized.
