Prosecution:Chief Inspector Patrick Ayensu presenting facts of the case as investigated by Detective Sergeant Bosompem Baah Frank told the court that the accused, Asafoatse Gwa Asiedu Agbloe VI, is a sound engineer and resides at Ada-Foah. The victim, Nene Lomo VI, is the Head of the Lomobiawe clan of the Ada Traditional Area. On 19/01/2023, at about 3:00 pm, the Ada District Police Command received several voice recordings of phone conversations in which the accused was heard engaging some people including Emma and Saliki, all at large, to kill the owner of a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with registration number GN 7212-21. The prosecution indicated that Police investigations identified the victim as the owner of the said vehicle and the same was confirmed by the victim as a family member but he had instituted an action in court against the accused and some family members over some unauthorized sale of family lands. The victim further stated that, due to the said land disputes coupled with chieftaincy issues, he had received several threats on his life following which he made complaints to the Police. The prosecution further said Police arrested the accused for questioning and during investigations, the audio recordings were played to the hearing of the accused and he confirmed same to be his voice and also agreed to have paid an amount of GHS30,000.00 to Saliki and Emma, the suspects who were to execute the killing. When questioned about the purpose for the payment of the money to the suspects, the accused claimed that he had information that some unknown persons had contracted the said Saliki and Emma to kill him(the accused) and so the payment was to appease the contract killers from killing him. Prosecution Chief Inspector Patrick Ayensu indicated that the investigations were still ongoing to unravel the fact.
