According to UK-based Ghanaian singer Stephanie Benson, a person loses their privacy when they get married.

The mother of four feels that marriage is a situation where no one should keep anything from the other. When a person gets married, all limitations should be lifted, she continued.

"When you get married, you lose your privacy; you and your partner ought to be one. Whatever you're doing, I don't care. Don't be reluctant to answer each other's calls on the phone.

"You two have nothing to conceal from one another. What does the pledge state about you being one? When did your phone become yours since the pledge declares that you are a union? You are one. It's how you develop, she said.

On February 22, 2023, Stephanie Benson reaffirmed that privacy should be restricted when it comes to things like business-related concerns in an interview with Happy FM.

"I mean, since it's business, there are some things you might not have to disclose. That's different—you don't have to share if you have a phone and everything you need to do is work-related, she explained.
