The Chief of Konkomba community in the Pru East District Capital of the Bono East Region, Nana Kwaku Dua I have lauded the District Chief Executive of the Assembly, Honourable Joshua Abonkrah for improving development in the area.

He made the observation when the Bono East Regional Minister Honourable Kwasi Adu Gyan paid a courtesy call on chiefs in the area during his tour of the district.

Addressing the Minister and his entourage, Nana Dua I said he together with his people are praying for strength for the president that the District Chief Executive could be maintained. This has become necessary because of what he described as massive development being championed by the DCE in the area.

He hinted at a market project which is being undertaken by the Assembly for the Konkomba community.

The Chief believes that the said project will go a long way to improving the livelihood of the people and increasing revenue generation for the assembly.

He further added that the DCE has done nothing wrong and has served the people well since he assumed office hence his replacement will bring a retrogression.

He, therefore, reiterated his people’s support for the DCE Joshua Abonkrah as they wait for the appointment of the president.

Chief of Cherepo, Nana Twumasi Ankrah is popularly known as ‘Osisrekwabrafo’ expressed his displeasure over the politicization of chieftaincy issues and called on traditional leaders to desist from such act which has the tendency to tarnish the image of chiefs.

He also commended the District Chief Executive for his outstanding performance since his assumption in office.

The Bono East Minister, Kwasi Adu Gyan pledged his support in resolving the issues.
