It seems the address on the economy by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has rather infuriated a lot of Ghanaians. Henry Osei Akoto, an NDC National Organizer, branded Akufo-Addo as “empty” shortly after he delivered his address on Ghana’s ailing economy.

He berated the president for failing to find concrete solutions to the economic woes that Ghanaians are going through. Ghanaians ranging from ordinary men on the street to businessmen, journalists, celebrities, and so on have expressed their dissatisfaction with the management of the economy by the NPP government. The opposition party, NDC has chastised the government on several occasions as a result of this unfortunate situation.

Even the former president, John Dramani Mahama addressed the nation and offered some advice on how the economy can be revived. Among others, he called for the removal of the finance minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta which was originally upheld by both Majority and Minority Members in Parliament.

However, it seems all the ideas expressed by Ghanaians have fallen on the deaf ears of the president who is hellbent on keeping the finance minister in the post. - Advertisement - Consequently, the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo addressed the nation on TV3 on Sunday, October 30, 2022, where he admitted the economy of Ghana is in difficulty. As usual, he said COVID-19 and the Ukraine war are all contributory factors to Ghana’s current economic turmoils.

He added that the situation of Ghana is even better than other African countries and employed Ghanaians to reduce the negative speculations about the economy. It is against this background that the former Ofori-Krom Parliamentary Candidate criticized the president for being only full of words and can’t walk his talk. He added that the President is not proactive and also lambasted the writers of Akufo-Addo’s speech.
