Afotey Agbo Kicks   Against Dismissal Of NDC Members  From Offices Of NHIA
Mr Joseph Nii Afotey-Agbo
Former Greater Accra Regional Minister who doubles as the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpone Katamanso Constituency, Mr Joseph Nii Afotey-Agbo, has strongly kicked against the reported cases of the massive dismissal of the workers from the offices of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) who are affiliated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to information available to Soireenews the dismissal and victimization of the members and supporters of the NDC who are workers of the NHI A are so pervasive to the extent that some people who are close relatives or families of the NDC members of parliament and former appointees of the NDC are afraid to talk of any issue which is bad in this country under the NPP administration.
Against this backdrop, Nii Afotey-Agbo has cautioned the ruling government to stop the victimization against political opponents as that could further divide the nation.
This, he said was inimical to national unity and security, therefore, calling for an end to the practice.
According to him, only God-fearing individuals in power could have the spirit to unite all parties regardless of their political belief systems.
" We must be God-fearing people and see everyone as Ghanaian and our own. This is because people on the other side of the political divide are not enemies and must also have food on their table. Unless one doesn't have the background of God-fearing that's the only reason one will be wicked towards the neighbour.
During my tenure, I tried to contain everybody and extend my hands of friendship to colleagues on the other side and treat them as human as they are especially when I have seen them as vulnerable. Must you add more injuries to their pain, he quizzed.
The Kpone Katamanso Reagent bemoaned the political act of going after vulnerable people and sacking them from workplaces because of political expediency.
"I never went after any NPP person neither did I sack or order the sacking of any when we were in power. I saw them as vulnerable and treated them as human as they were and that's the respect am enjoying today even in opposition. NPP should stop hurting Ghanaians. We must unite as a country with love," he urged.
His comment comes after news reports have indicated that some people believed to be members and sympathizers of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) were sacked from the National Health Insurance offices at the time the NDC exited power.
"I felt it when people believed to belong to the NDC were sacked but I had since not gotten the opportunity to address this matter. Honestly, this should not happen again", he lamented.
He warned that the trend is allowed to persist would spell doom for the country and further widen the inequality ravine.
"If love for ourselves is given the chance to take the centre stage in this country, we will develop and unite with this country in the shortest possible time. How can we unite this country with this vindictive attitude"? did he decry?
