Northern Regional Minister Presents Minister of Tourism to Ya-Na  

The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Shani Shaibu Alhassan has led the newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture to the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abubakar II at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi.

The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Shani Shaibu Alhassan has led the newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture to the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abubakar II at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi.

The visit was amid to formally inform the King about the elevation of the Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture, Dr. Mohammed Awal from his previous office to the currently assigned portfolio.

At the Gbewaa Palace, Mr. Shani introduced the tourism Minister to Ya-Naa and sought his blessings and permission for the sector minister to develop tourist sites in the country, including the notable ones in the Northern Region.

The Minister of Tourism, Art, and Culture pledged to upgrade various tourist sites in the country to make them more competitive and attractive to visitors in Ghana and the world at large.

He revealed that tourism is part of President Akuffo Addo's vision to make the sector an avenue for revenue mobilization for the country.

Ya Naa Abubakar II on the other hand congratulated the Ministers on their appointment and promised to assist them with the necessary support.

He urged the Minister for Tourism to upgrade the Dagbon-Adiboo-tua, Kanvili Naa-Dataa-tua and the Babato Grave among other tourist sites.

He said those sites could be used as recreational centers for tourist attractions in Dagbon and Ghana at large.

They were accompanied to the palace by the Municipal Chief Executive, some government officials, and the Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
