In what has been a mixed bag of results for the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has quietly won the Ketu-South seat.

The veteran actress made sure to stay under the radar prior to her victory, allowing her colleague, John Dumelo to take all the heat; and the fall.

She has now defied the trend of narrow losses for contestants from the creative arts industry.

The savvy producer and screen scriptwriter clinched the Ketu-South constituency seat in the Volta region for the National Democratic Congress as she beat the New Patriotic Party’s David Tiahno Quarshie.

Abla Dzifa Gomashie will now replace the incumbent member of parliament for the constituency Fiifi Kwetey who did not seek reelection in the December 7, 2020, election.

Upon winning her parliamentary candidature bid at the Party’s primaries level last year, she has filed to contest in this year’s elections of December 7, in accordance with the laws of this country.

This comes after John Dumelo lost the Member of Parliament seat for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency to Lydia Seyram Alhassan.

The major battle between the power of astute politicians and the entire Creative Arts Industry was lost.

Abla Dzifa Gomashie has now restored a bit of the lost glory with her victory.
