90 Days In Jail For Akuapem Poloo Over Nude Picture With Son

Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to 90 days in prison by the Circuit Court in Accra.

In what is a climax to her "nude photos with her seven-year-old son" saga, the actress will now serve three months in jail for what has been deemed inappropriate behaviour.

This sentence comes after she had been convicted on her own plea by the Circuit Court in Accra after pleading guilty to charges.

It was served by the court which was presided over by Her Honour Mrs Christiana Cann, who noted that such cases in becoming prevalent in society and Institutions including the court must act.

According to the court, the punishment would have been steeper, but it took into consideration the fact that she pleaded guilty and admitted her faults by showing deep remorse.

This was per EIB Network’s Court Correspondent Murtala Inusah reports, who noted that Akuapem Poloo was inconsolable in court, crying all day to show how sorry she is for the whole saga.

She was also tested for pregnancy before being sentenced; a test that came out negative.

The pregnancy test ordered by the court is a requirement by law to ensure that, before a woman who pleaded guilty in court is sentenced, she should know her status.

She was therefore remanded into custody for the prosecution to take her to any Government hospital to conduct the pregnancy test and produce the results today.
