The Deputy Minister for Trade and Member of Parliament for Tema East Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah has come under heavy attack for his utter disregard of the precautions placed to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.

This comes after his resignation had been accepted by the President of the Republic of Ghana upon the revelation of his unruly actions. He visited a registration center in his constituency before the period of self-isolation had been completed shortly after testing positive for coronavirus, an action which directly endangered the lives of Ghanaians.

He admitted knowing his status was not completely clear before socializing in an interview with Citi TV but justified his actions by saying that he is asymptomatic and therefore cannot merely infect others - a statement which was disproved by the W.H.O.

“My test results had shown I was positive a week ago and after one week, my doctors said I could step out. Except that I needed to wear my mask and observe social distancing. I decided to see how some of the centers were just operating. So, I stepped out into town a bit. It didn’t mean I couldn’t go out.”

Celebrities have come out en masse to criticize the thoughtless actions of the ex-deputy minister on the social media scenes. John Dumelo, Lydia Forson, amongst many others. Read their reactions below.
