Deputy Minister of Education, Reverend John Ntim Forjour, has stated that the 30% equity that allows for children from deprived public schools to enter into the category 'A' Senior High school is a step in the right direction since it provides opportunities for both the child of the rich and poor.

The Deputy Education Minister indicated that contrary to claims that the system is disadvantaging children who are schooled in private schools, it is rather creating an equal platform for all.
Rev. Fordjour who was speaking at an award ceremony for 41 teachers from the Young Executive School in kasoa indicated that the government is focused on ensuring that many more schools are raised to the standards of the category 'A' schools to ensure that school children who desire category 'A' get them.
On the other hand,  the managing Director of Young Executive School Noble, Dr.  Francis Okye-ahene Essel has noted that the reason behind the awards was to motivate the teachers to work harder to lift the name of the school higher.
Mr. Essel highlighted that the teachers were given fridges, 52" flat-screen televisions, washing machines plots of Land, and others adding that the honor is teachers yearly.
