Ghana Education System Needs A Total Overhaul Else- DR.MUNTAKA

The new curriculum which is supposed to guide teachers and improve quality education had brought a lot of controversies since it was introduced in 2019.

Some teachers say it needed a broader consultation before the introduction. However, teachers are currently based on the new curriculum despite some intended rejection.

Dr. Abdul Samed Muntaka, senior lecturer at the school of business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) said, the new curriculum needs a broader consultation between the ghana education services, teachers, and parents hence it's aim would not be achieved.

Adding that the current state of education is soo pathetic which needs an urgent overhaul hence the system will fall in a ditch in the next ten years.

He made this known at the end-year PTA meeting of the chief Montessori school in Obuasi.

The meeting which comprises teachers, parents, pastors students among others was aimed to enhance teaching and learning at Chief Montessori School (CMS) to a higher standard.

Proprietor of chief Montessori school, Mr. Alex Ansah Kofi Owusu said, Security has been enhanced due to the ASIA directive, notwithstanding parents have a collective effort beefing up right from their homes to achieve a common goal.

Adding that, the school is fully prepared when it comes to security, access to computers, qualified teachers, hygienic food and water for students, as well as a serene environment making teaching and learning comfortable for both teachers and students.

The proprietor continued that the school is liaising with some authority outside the country for students of CMS to gain scholarships studying abroad in the coming years.
