Former Presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has called on Nigerians to assert their position as the real owners of the country come 2023.

Moghalu said “a mighty wind” will blow in the country following the next year’s elections.

He made the statement in a post via his verified Twitter handle.

The Former deputy governor of the Central Bank also said that Nigerians deserve a better life and not suffering.

He wrote, “A mighty wind will blow in Nigeria in 2023. Let Nigerians rise up peacefully and declare their real “independence” and ownership of our country and our destiny as a people at the ballot box.

"We are God’s children too. We deserve our place in the sun. We should thrive, not suffer.”

Professor Moghalu is the recipient of several honors, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) conferred by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) of Nigeria, and the Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) degree Honoris Causa from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University (Anambra State University).

He is also a member of the American Economic Association, American Bar Association, Academy of International Business, Global Association of Risk Professionals, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
