Central Region- Kasoa: Minor Commits Suicide At Opeikuma

A 12year old boy has committed suicide at Opeikuma, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the central region. Whereas the prompting factors for the action of the deceased have not been established yet, residents say they’ve been startled as a result of the death. Here’s more on the story.

Aged 12years old, the deceased Junior Setor suddenly went missing after returning from school during the afternoon of Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

A search by his parents, relatives, and other neighbors proved futile until he was found late in the night and lying in a prone position in an uncompleted building in their compound with a torn rope around his neck with the piece of the rope still hanging on a part of the building.

The mother of the deceased, Joyce Setor who spoke to Soireenews said, she cannot tell what might have prompted his son who never showed any sign of worry to commit such an act.

Some neighbors of the Sector family also spoke to Soireenews expressing their disbelief and also called on the police to swiftly conduct a full-scale investigation into the act.

They described the deceased as a child without trouble and very respectful. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been evacuated and deposited at the Police Hospital morgue pending an autopsy by the police.
