The Premier League has confirmed that 18 cases of coronavirus have been recorded.

1479 players and staff were between December 21 to December 27 and infected persons will isolate for a period of 10 days.

A number of cases have been reported in Manchester which have seen the Matchweek 15 fixture between Everton and Manchester City postponed on Monday.

“The first team training ground at City Football Academy will close for an indeterminate period, with the squad and associated bubble undergoing testing before any decision is made for training to resume.

“Everyone at the Club wishes all of our colleagues a speedy recovery ahead of their return to work, training and competition,” the statement added.

The Premier League's coronavirus data is bee provided "for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency,” and “No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing,” it added.

The Premier League in the month of November recorded 16 cases, the second-highest number before the recent.

A maximum number of 2,000 fans on November 26, 2020, to watch games of Premier League clubs under tier 2 of locations allowed by the UK government to permit spectators back to sporting events.

Manchester City, United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Leeds and Wolves were placed in Tier three, considered as locations with the highest restrictions and are still playing games behind closed doors.
