A Deadly accident on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, claimed eleven (11) lives on the Walewale-Tamale road in the North East Region.

The accident happened at the Nasia bridge, a community in the Walewale Municipality.

A local rescuer, Afa Issah told SoireeNews that eight person's died at the scene before three later perished at the Walewale hospital with several other's in critical condition and currently battling for their lives.

A transport vehicle with about 45 passengers travelling from Kumasi to Bawku crashed into the bridge and somersaulted several times.

Following the early hour's of the accident, and prompt response to the accident, some of the passengers died a painful death.

The main cause of the accident is yet to be established, but some of the passengers who survived the accident claimed the driver slept off.

The accident caused vehicular traffic for several hours before personnel from the Ghana fire service cleared the scene.
