Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng has disclosed the efficient benefit Ghana will obtain from the National Cathedral when completed.

According to the Founder and General Overseer of Power Chapel Worldwide, the financial earnings from the Cathedral would go beyond proceedings gathered from the various stadia in the country, outlining that the space to let for activities are income generation that would empower Ghana financially and resolve the challenges citizens go through during Presidential Inaugural and National Thanksgiving Service.

“Revenue from the Cathedral would would go beyond proceedings gathered from the Stadia put together. How can this be possible. The rental of the spaces itself is an income generational activity. There are a lot of spaces for conventions, conferences.

“I had the opportunity to host a musical event during Ghana@60 and invited Global Gospel musicians like Sinach, Darlene Zschech, Sony Badu and many others. There was no space to accommodate 3,000 people so we had to pay GH₵60,000 to rent a church for three hours for the program.

"The spaces will make a lot of money,” he said.

He outlined that the inclusion of an African Bible museum to give an account of the Holy Book of God in Africa, a music school and the Cathedral itself will yield foreign exchange for the development of the country.

“The Cathedral in itself is a tourist center and will attract lots of people. The car parking spaces, restaurants, Garden and advertisements boards will all generate a lot of money,” he added.

Rev. Boateng addressed the press and stakeholders in Kumasi on Tuesday morning at a conference on the Launch of the National Cathedral and Fund Raising Campaign, which will take place on Thuesday, January 30th 2020 at the Church of Pentecost, A.T Nartey Temple, Bantama Kumasi

The Secretary made known that the buiding of the national church is as a result of the pledge the president made to God as a form of gratitude for preserving Ghana form civil wars, famine and other natural disasters since independence inspite of the challenging circumstances in the sub region.

A sword was cut in Accra for the construction of the National Cathedral designed by the leading Ghanaian British architect, Sir David Adjaye OBE, as an iconic infrastructure and a convening platform.

As an infrastructure, the Cathedral is an iconic landmark that addresses a missing link in the national architecture by providing a great church for national purposes where Ghanaians of all denominations gather for worship, reflect, celebrate and mourn.

The cathedral will also serve as a venue for state occasions of a religious nature such as Presidential Inaugural Service, State Funerals and National Thanksgiving Service.

The Chairman of the program is the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be the Special Guest of the program.
