Dean Henderson is bound for Old Trafford next season following the young England goalkeeper’s impressive season with Sheffield United.

TalkSPORTS reported on Wednesday that the 23-year-old goalkeeper is ‘on the verge’ of signing a new £100,000-a-week contract with the Red Devils, only a year after penning an extension worth £60,000-a-week.

Chelsea were speculated to be preparing an audacious offer for the United young shot-stopper but a post made on the player’s Instagram account means he will be spending the rest of his career at Old Trafford as a cover-up for David De Gea.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at @sheffieldunited for the last two years,” he wrote.

“Winning promotion to the Premier League with my brothers and having the season we had this season is something I will never forget.

“I would like to thank the manager, my teammates, the backroom staff, and of course, the fans, who have been unbelievable towards to me. I will look back at the last two years as an important chapter in my career and more than anything, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and develop with such a class group of lads.
