Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe says Ryan Fraser will not be included in the Cherries 2019-2020 league campaign stating that the player is not focused on helping the team escape relegation.

Fraser rejected a short-term contract extension to finish the current season with Bournemouth with his current deal expiring at the end of the month.

“He has played his last game for the football club,” said Howe. “He won’t be involved with us for the last nine games, I only want players who are fully focused on the relegation battle that we have ahead.

“Nobody could have predicted what would happen with the season shutting down due to the virus, Ryan’s then found himself in a very difficult situation because of that.

Bournemouth is top of the three clubs, including Aston Villa and Norwich City fighting relegation having won seven and lost 16 games after 29 matches in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe believes only committed players can help battle to keep the team out of the threat.

The Cherries will kick off their campaign on Saturday, June 20, 2020, against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium.

“It was my decision. These are the most important games we’ve had in recent times and we need everybody in the same position mentally, fighting tooth and nail and giving everything for the football club, and Ryan, unfortunately due to his contract situation, can’t commit to that.

“Two games for us wasn’t going to make the difference for us, we wanted a nine-game commitment and unfortunately he couldn’t give that.”

Bournemouth have extended the loan deal of Liverpool's Harry Wilson until the end of the season.
