Hakim Ziyech will miss the Blues Premier League fixture against Arsenal, Lampard has said.

The Moroccan missed the start of the season through an injury having arrived from Ajax for £33.4m. his recovery saw Chelsea exhibit top-class performances on the field through his industrious assists and ability to link-up play.

The player picked up an injury at the start of December and his absence has seen Chelsea lose twice against Everton and Wolves before picking a win against West Ham on Monday night.

Chelsea enters into the festive season with three Premier League games in the space of eight days starting with Arsenal on Saturday before welcoming Aston Villa on December 28.

They will engage Manchester City on January 3 and per the words of the manager, the injury is not a long term as they hope to get him back by next week.

“Hakim Ziyech won’t be fit for Arsenal.

“He had an injury at the start of the season and he’s just got another muscle injury. You have to wait for it to recover.

“It’s not a long-term concern, we hope to have him back within the next week or so, and hopefully offering what he was before.”

Reece James and Ben Chilwell are also nursing injuries and the manager spoke that “they are both doubtful,” Lampard added.

“I can’t give you an answer at the moment. I’m not sure if they will be fit for either game.”
