Liverpool will play Brazilian counterparts, Flamengo in Saturdays FIFA Club World Cup final in Qatar after a 2-1 win against Mexican side, Monterrey.

 

 

Naby Keita scored the opener in the 12-minute after Salah with his back to goal spotted Keita's late run and played a reverse ball inside Montes, putting him clean through. The defender was slow to turn and could only look on as Keita run through and beat Barovero with a smart finish inside the near post.

 

 

The lead lasted for two minutes when the Funes Mori responded.

Liverpool refused to clear a free-kick delivered from deep, it was returned into the box where from a tight angle Pabon forced Alisson into a low save. Funes Mori was the first to react with Liverpool's defenders like statues, and fired home emphatically to level.

The second half of the game witnessed intensed attacks and defending from both sides. Sadio Mane was brought on for Shaqiri as Milner was subbed for Alexander Arnold.

With five minutes of time remaining, Roberto Firmino was brought on for Divock Origi before breaking the deadlock in additional time.

 

 

Mohamed Salah shook off challenges from Gallardo and Vangioni just inside the area on the left and pulled it back to an unmarked Alexander-Arnold who pinged in an absolutely out of this world low ball into the near post where Firmino sidefooted it past Barovero.
