Western Region: Resident of Hotopo Cry For Potable Drinking Water.

The community depends on 'The Butler river as the only source of drinking water in the area. They use the same water to do all their house chores.

Residents of Hotopo in the Ahanta West district of the Western region have appealed to the authorities to provide them with potable drinking water since their main source of drinking water has been polluted by galamsey activities

Hotopo, a farming community in the Ahana West district of the Western Region has a population of over 2000 who are seeking potable drinking water.

The community depends on the 'Butler river as the only source of drinking water in the area. They use the same water to do all their house chores.

However, the activities of galamsey in the area have polluted the Butler river which serves as the only source of water for the entire community, making it very difficult for the people to access potable drinking water.

They have, therefore, called on the government to flash out the galamsey activities on the river to help save the situation.
