Western Region: Raining Season, speed up the work for Appiatse Residents.MP fire.

Honorable  Elvis Morris Donkor  also promised that, the committee would add their voice to fastened reconstruction project to relocate the people a safe place early because we are in raining season.

 About 50 people have been displaced from their tents as a result of heavy windstorms during rainfall at Appiatse relief camp which has contributed badly to their living conditions.

The rain started around1 pmm on Friday 8th April 2022  for about one and half hours after the visit of the Parliamentary Select Committee on mining and energy which was led by Honorable Elvis Morris Donkor vice chairman of the parliamentary select Committee on mining and energy of which the aim of the delegation visits to have first-hand information and access the damage of the disaster. 

Speaking to the Prestea Huni-valley Municipal Deputy NADMO coordinator Mr. Louis Afual he said, the rain has claimed about 20  tents which have resulted in displacing about 50 people, so they are calling on the government and the Appiatse reconstruction committee to come to their aid to fasten the ongoing project at the proposed Odumase relief site for the residence.

Honorable  Elvis Morris Donko also promised that the committee would add their voice to fastened reconstruction project to relocate the people to a safe place early because we are in the rainy season.

In addition, the ranking member of the committee, Honorable John Jinapo said the committee will call the management of the Appiatse support fund to account for the incomes of the fund how they are intended to use it and also appeal to the people of Ghana to keep on supporting the people with their donations because their problems are not yet over.

therefore, pleaded with the government to speed up the work because we are in raining season.
