Timo Werner (50') scores his 25th goal this Bundesiga season.

Timo Werner is reported to be in talks with Chelsea for a move into the Premier League.

Liverpool has been the preferred destination for the German yet his price valuation was a hurdle for Jurgen Klopp’s team due to the financial hit caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Mirror reported last Thursday that the Reds have pulled out of the deal after an offer of £30m was rejected by the Bundesliga side.

According to Bild, Frank Lampard is looking forward to adding the 24-year-old to enrich his squad for the upcoming season following the arrival of Ajax''s attacking midfielder and winger, Hakim Ziyech.

The approach means the London club is willing to offer €55 million for the prolific striker.

Werner has made known of his intentions to travel abroad and continue his career, and the Premier League has been established as a likable destination for him.

Leipzig is willing to sell but not below the price value regardless of how teams' finances have been tormented by the coronavirus.

The chief executive, Oliver Mintzlaff in an interview with Sport Bild stated that the price for the player won't go below value.

"It won't get any cheaper. We will not sell a player below value if he is under contract for more than a year,” Mintzlaff told Sport Bild.

"In general, we always have to ask the following question, can we replace a player if we sell him for less than his market value?

"But, I only think about those things once I have the facts on the table."
