We Won - Stonebwoy Finally Declares His Favourite GPL Team

Stonebwoy has chosen Accra Hearts of Oak as his favourite team in the Premier League.

The dancehall artiste confessed that he was initially afraid to openly support his club because of the discrimination artistes face when it comes to club support but he is no longer afraid since they beat their bitter rivals, Kotoko, on Sunday.

“I’m so happy to see the High Spirit Coming Back in Full Effect.. GPL! Honestly I was sceptical about declaring my team for obvious reasons but we Won..” He wrote.

This comes after the Accra-based side placed themselves in pole position to win their first league title in 11 years after beating the Kumasi Asante Kotoko 1-0.

The goal was scored by in-form midfielder Daniel Afriyie Barnie in their top-of-the-table clash.

Stonebwoy was skeptics to reveal his team due to the backlash Kuami Eugene has been suffering in recent times.

The artiste was banned from performing at the game on Sunday after the home team Hearts of Oak declined to have him because he openly supports Kotoko.

The team maintained that it would be an insult to their fans of a known supporter of Kotoko performs on stage at their home game. 

Both teams were level on 56 points ahead of Sunday's match at the Accra Sports Stadium but the victory over the Porcupines, who were second-placed, means Hearts have now taken a threee point lead.

Stonebwoy's team now have 59 points from 31 matches while Kotoko have 56 points after the same number of matches played according to the statistic from Livescore.
