Some market women in the Obuasi East District have vowed to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the coming 2024 election.
A section of traders specifically in Kwabrafoso, a suburb of Obuasi of the Ashanti Region are calling on the District Chief Executive, Honourable Faustina Amissah and the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Dr Patrick Boakye Yiadom to swiftly re-award a contract of the market to another contractor for what they call a total waste of money and a shoddy job which was done some few weeks ago.
In an engagement by Soiree news correspondent Yaw Opoku, with some of the market women, they said a renovation was done a few weeks ago, but the situation which leads to the renovation has worsened.
"Our market is sinking as we speak and the saddest part is when it rains you will come to your shells in the next minute and all you see is Total damage of your items caused by a flood.
"Our fence wall is very short hence armed robbers always climb to the market and flee with our goods," they said.
They concluded that if nothing is done about the issue, they will vote massively vote against NPP in the coming election.
